For starting a new article, report, or book.
A dialog box which appears allows selection of a standard LaTeX document class along with suitable options applicable to this class. Then a template is generated and inserted in the document at the current cursor position.
To type in the title, the author's name, the date, and the acknowledgements you can position the cursor somewhere between the corresponding braces, then press CTRL+M (the text in the braces will be highlighted, including braces), and type what you want to see there.
