LaTeX-pie clipbook (or library) is a powerful set of macros (clips) for writing LaTeX source files using the text editor NoteTab Pro/Std 4.8.

LaTeX-pie turns NoteTab into a very powerful and flexible programmable editor and the front-end for work with 4TeX 5.0 and with TeX_Live. It allows to run TeX compilers, a DVI viewer (windvi), a Postscript and PDF viewer (GSview), 2-up printing, BIBTeX, MakeIndex, and MKTEXLSR without leaving the editor.

Look at a screenshot of NoteTab Pro 4.8 with the LaTeX-pie toolbar in action. If you are curious what a particular button does, simply click on it, and you will be taken to a manual page with explanations.

This clipbook is freeware. It is written in NoteTab's macro language and based on my experience with LaTeX, 4TeX and TeX_Live.

You can find more information about the NoteTab family of text editors for Windows 95/98 and NT at the NoteTab home site (just to mention: I am not affiliated with NoteTab, which is copyrighted © by Eric G.V. Fookes; I only like this text editor).

The LaTeX-pie clipbook does not use any specific features of any particular TeX implementation, so it should work with any TeX implementation, running either directly under Windows (e.g., MiKTeX) or in its DOS window (like emTeX and emTeX-based implementations, including 4allTeX). However, if you like the LaTeX-pie clipbook and have (or will have) MiKTeX installed, you may also try to combine it with Anders Warne's TeXlips clipbook, which is a front end for MiKTeX and which allows MiKTeX users to run TeX, BIBTeX, MakeIndex, DVIPS, etc., directly from the NoteTab editor.

I hope that you will find this clipbook convenient and easy-to-use tool, which will help you in creating LaTeX files. Thank you for your interest.

Igor Podlubny.
