\frac{}{} command with braces and places the cursor between the first curly braces.

Selecting the string '2/3' below and running the 'frac' clip

instantly gives:
\frac{2}{3}

Selecting the TWO LINES and running the 'frac' clip
\alpha + 1
\beta - 3
gives:
\frac{\alpha + 1}
{\beta - 3}

Selecting the FOUR (or more) LINES and running the 'frac' clip:
\alpha + 1
(\beta - 3)
(x+y+z)
(x^2-y^3)
gives:
\frac{\alpha + 1} % the first line goes to the numerator
{(\beta - 3) % all others go to denominator
(x+y+z)
(x^2-y^3)}

Now you are ready to typeset the fraction
a + 2/3
b + 3/4
as
\frac{a + \frac{2}{3} }
{b + \frac{3}{4} }
in just three steps (remember that you can recall the last used clip by pressing CTRL+SPACEBAR).
